You can download the Conference Flyer here - please do forward this to your contacts and networks, and help to spread the news of the conference far and wide!
You can also help us to spread the word by using our hashtag #UKASFP2019 on Twitter and elsewhere.
We will be having some flyers printed, so if you have training taking place or know of organisations who might distribute them, let us know how many you would like (10 minimum), and your full postal address, and we will send them to you. Email us at email@example.com
2019 is seeing the beginnings of a Conference Fringe. The wonderful singer-songwriter - and UKASFP Committee member - Alun Parry - is playing a gig in Bath on the evening of 10th July, to launch his new album. A great way to start the conference! Book your fringe tickets here but hurry, this is sure to sell out.
There is plentiful accommodation in Bath. We have also secured 60 rooms at the conference venue itself. These are student rooms on the Newton Park campus, where breakfast is included. Details of how to book these are below. We also have 40 rooms available in student accommodation at Green Park House in Bath city centre, which is room only. The conference venue at Bath Spa University’s main Newton Park campus is four miles out from the city centre, and there will be a complimentary return bus service from Green Park House to venue, for conference participants. Please see full information and how to book here.
Please see the Conference Terms and Conditions here.
Call for papers - Please submit your proposals via the online form.
We have received some wonderful ideas for this year’s UKASFP conference, following our ‘call for ideas’. We are now asking for people to firm up their ideas into concrete proposals, and we would love to hear from people who have not been in contact already too.
We want to develop a conference ethos that is both collective and interactive. We welcome submissions from groups of two or more, and whether you are submitting as an individual or a group, we want what you offer to have a strong interactive element.
We also want to encourage submissions from people who have something to share - some research, a project, an idea - that doesn’t immediately lead to interactive activity. We will then have an option of bringing such submissions together into coherent groupings, to enable discussion and the cross-fertilisation of ideas.
Space and time will be made available for poster presentations too, where people can interact around your poster and your ideas.
Here is what you can offer - we would like submissions to relate to our theme of “HOPE, in conversation and/or action”, as far as possible.
One hour long and interactive - skills-based or discussion-based
10-20 minutes long, so you can tell the audience about something - research or evaluation, a project, an idea… - we can group talks together and provide a chair to facilitate discussion
This format is also designed to share information, here with the visual focus of a poster, which people can discuss with you, rather than a verbal presentation
If you have another idea that does not fit any of the above, please let us know.
If you want to submit more than one proposal, please fill in a different form for each. We will be looking at proposals as they arrive and will let people know as soon as we are able to whether theirs has been accepted. Rather than have a closing date, there will be an element of ‘first come first served’, so do submit as early as you can.
If there is not the space to accommodate a proposal as requested, we will be happy to discuss other possible formats for presenting or facilitating your work.
Please submit your proposals via the online form.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact Guy Shennan and Rob Black at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Warm wishes from the #UKASFP2019 team.
